Obit – Mrs. Jean Kellow
Mrs. Jean Kellow age 82 of Lebanon was pronounced deceased at 12:23 p.m. Wednesday afternoon June 12, 2024 at the TriStar Summit Medical Center in Hermitage where she was admitted to the medical intensive care unit May 29th suffering from heart failure complications.
Mrs. Kellow was at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted by her pastor, Bro. David Lawson, on Wednesday afternoon June 19th at 1 p.m. Burial followed beside her husband William in section five at the Ridgewood Cemetery.
She was born Agnes Jean Gay in Lebanon on July 2, 1941 and was the oldest of eight children and was preceded in death by her father Charlie Watson who died April 3, 1970 at the age of 62 and her mother, Gertrude Lee Dishman Watson who died March 3, 1975 at the age of 50.
Siblings preceding her in death were three sisters, Sue Watson Withers, Jo Watson who died at the age of 52 on June 19, 2021, Connie Marie Watson Clifton who died at the age of 71 on December 11, 2022 and by a brother, Jerry Thomas “Red” Watson who died at the age of 72 on December 4, 2020.
In Gatlinburg on April 9, 2001 she was united in marriage to Carthage native, William Lee Kellow who died unexpectedly at the age of 66 on June 30, 2003.
Mrs. Jean was saved as a child and at the time of her death was an active member of the Poplar Hill Baptist Church in Watertown where she was a Sunday School teacher.
She retired from the Nissan Corporation in Smyrna in 1999 with over twenty years’ service as a welder.
She is survived by four children, Pat Johnson and wife Carol of Crossville, Donna Kay Garrett, Jeffrey Napier and Sherman Kellow and wife Jamie all of Lebanon; two sisters, Jenny McPeak, Teresa Sellars both of Lebanon and a brother, Charles Edward Watson and wife Patricia also of Lebanon; nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
