County’s property tax rate set

Commissioners have set the county’s property tax rate at $1.73310 which is unchanged from last year.

In addition, commissioners have approved a 2025-2026 fiscal year budget.

With no plans for a property tax increase, there was little opposition to the county’s proposed budget with only two commissioners voting against the proposal.

The county property tax rate and upcoming fiscal year budget were approved during the county commission’s July meeting held on Monday (July 28) of last week.

The county’s Budget and Finance Committee spent months meeting with various department heads in order to come up with the proposed budget.
