Youth salesman at roadside stand

By Eddie West Staff Writer

A successful business needs a good salesman up front.

Neyland McKinney stood behind a small, well-worn table on Gordonsville Highway/Highway 53 at the pull-off area located beside the Gordonsville McDonalds, Thursday morning (July 31).

Draped across the front of the wooden table was a sign which read “Sweet Corn For Sale”. On top of the table was sampling of the product. Individual ears of corn laid out in a row.

“He’s my salesman,” remarked Dale McKinney, the youth’s grandfather,as he finished a sales transaction of a dozen ears of corn for six dollars. “He loves to sell corn. This morning he said ‘let’s go sell some corn’. Some people honk as they go by.”
