Director of schools application process currently underway

The school board’s search for a director of schools is underway.

The position was posted on the board of education’s website Thursday and is being advertised in the Courier, surrounding county newspapers as well as other outlets.

As anticipated, school board members made modifications to a tentative timeline for hiring a director of schools discussed at its November meeting.

While the target date for having a director of schools in place (under contract) by the first part of April remains unchanged, during its December meeting (December 9) the school board made modifications to its tentative posting/advertising timeline.

Board members agreed to post the position no later than December 11 on the school’s website with job advertisements and other posting to follow.

Meanwhile, the deadline for resumes to be accepted is 3 p.m., January 12.

Resumes will be accepted only at School Board Attorney Robin Moore’s office in Carthage.

Attorney Moore will review the resumes in order to insure prospective applicants meet qualifications set forth by current school board policy and regulations for the position.
