Director of schools selection moves forward

The process of selecting a new director of schools is moving forward with a series of school board meetings.
Board members were presented with 12 applicants for the position during its January 20 meeting by school board Attorney Robin Moore.
Applications had been mailed to Attorney Moore’s office.
School board members were unaware of the number of applicants and candidates for director of schools position until they were presented to them during the meeting.
Resumes were presented to board members in booklet form for review.
In the meantime, the school board is holding a series of meetings to set rules and regulation in order to fine tune the interview process which is expected to take place this month.
School board members met for a special work session at 5 p.m., Monday (February 2), to discuss the applications and upcoming interview session. The work session was scheduled during a discussion which took place after applicants were revealed to school board members.
Board members also decided to hold a special called meeting set for 5 p.m., Monday, February 9.
